Loose Women's Denise Welch condemned by co-star Katie Piper in off camera rant

Denise Welch felt the wrath of Loose Women colleague Katie Piper within seconds of the show starting on Thursday and it was all down to her choice of footwear.

Having been absent from the ITV programme for the last few days, Denise joined Katie and co-star Carol McGiffin as Charlene White took over from Christine Lampard as host.

And, Denise had barely got into her seat behind the panel when Charlene revealed that Katie had just had "a massive go at Denise about her footwear." As Denise proudly stuck her leg in the air to show off the fact she was wearing flip flops, the Geordie star remarked: "Katie doesn't approve of the flip flops!"

Shaking her head next to her, Katie coolly responded: "Save them for the poolside," prompting Denise and Charlene to react: "Oooh," as Carol appeared to side with Katie by nodding her head.

After that unexpected start to Thursday's Loose Women, Charlene then got things back on track by doing what she should have done at the outset, before being thrown off course and welcomed viewers to the show, before teasing what was coming up.

While Katie took exception to what Denise had on her feet, eagle-eyed viewers were drawn to what Katie had on hers, noticing she was wearing the same sandals she'd worn numerous times before, after the star had posted a full length picture of what she was wearing on social media.

Katie posted the snap after explaining she'd already had a busy day with an appearance on ITV's Lorraine and, noticing her shoes, the fan replied: "Wearing those same pair of sandals again, you must love em!"
