Loose Women's Coleen Nolan left squirming at Ruth Langsford's closing remark

Coleen Nolan was left squirming and telling Ruth Langsford "people are having their lunch!" as the host ended Monday's Loose Women with an unexpected and rather suggestive remark.

A day after a picture of a whole host of female ITV presenters was widely shared on social media, there was some chat about female empowerment on the first episode of a new week, as the annual International Women's Day approaches.

The final part of the show saw the Loose Women panel address comments by Sally Dynevor, following her exit from Dancing on Ice on Sunday night.

The Coronation Street actress became the latest celebrity to get the boot from the ITV skating show, after conceding that it was her time to go, before the judges had even made their minds up.

But, rather than being downbeat about being voted out, soap icon Sally, 58, has thanked the show for 'reawakening' something in her and said she hoped that her appearance on the show will prove that older women can still be sexy.

The panel, featuring Coleen and co-stars Carol McGiffin and Kelle Bryan, all had their say on whether they feel sexy in themselves, with ex Eternal singer Kelle saying: "I feel sexy, I'm told I'm sexy and I like to feel sexy."

Ruth said that sometimes the very mention of the word "conjured up thongs and suspenders and they're scratchy!"

Coleen, who recently went public with her new man, said: "I am exuding but not enough for a g-string! It would be a g-rope frankly with me.

"But no, I do think it's when you start to feel better about yourself. When I came out of my last marriage, I was really down, I was overweight and I think that, over lockdown, when I was starting to take better care of myself, and I was proud of doing things on my own, it gives you a lot of confidence and that makes you portray a different you.

"And I think that's sexy in a man too."

After Ruth said that famous husband Eamonn Holmes helps her feel sexy by complimenting her, the host wrapped things up by saying: "Anyway, us sexy lot have got to go now...might have some sex."

Pulling a face, Coleen quickly shot back: "People are having their lunch, don't put them off!"

Ruth then joked: "I've got to go and see if I've got any matching underwear."

Coleen will be back on the panel on Tuesday, alongside Janet Street-Porter and Katie Piper, with Charlene White in the host's chair.
