Coleen Nolan and the rest of the Loose Women panel were taken aback, seconds into Wednesday's show, when the host was on the receiving end of a vicious insult from co-star Janet Street-Porter, who branded her a "cheeky cow" live on air.
While for many years, Loose Women had a core team of main hosts, most recently Ruth Langsford, Charlene White, Kaye Adams and Christine Lampard, over the last year a few other the other ladies have been given a chance to make the step up, most notably Coleen and colleague Jane Moore. And, after Jane did the honours on Tuesday, it was Coleen's turn to sit in the presenter's chair for the third Loose Women of this week.
ITV viewers first found out that Coleen would be at the head of the panel when she spoke to This Morning hosts Holly Willoughby and Craig Doyle towards the end of their show, with Coleen informing them and viewers watching at home that they'd be joined by gu4dsts including legendary crooner Tony Christie and Britain's Got Talent star Ashley Banjo, as he gets set to make his West End debut in The Wizard of Oz revival.

Coleen also teased a number of discussion topics that she'd be asking for the panel's opinions on and, it was the mention of studies suggesting that 'living like a caveman' could be the 'key to contentment' that led to the trading of jibes. It was Coleen that landed the first blow, as she quipped: "You must remember what it was like in the Stone Age, Janet?"
Looking truly riled by Coleen's comment, Janet shot back; "Hahaha, my club's under the counter, you cheeky cow," as a shocked Katie Piper put her hands over her mouth and Brenda Edwards burst out laughing, before Coleen responded: "Oh, I love a Wednesday!"
