Charlene White came close to quitting I'm A Celebrity after just one day, as she struggled with the unnerving reality of jungle life.
When the Loose Women host and ITV news anchor was confirmed to be on the line-up of the hit show, it was reported that bosses were hoping she'd give her campmates a real grilling around the campfire; but, it became apparent early on that Charlene was struggling with the reality of being on I'm A Celebrity and the challenges it posed.
Viewers saw her wake up after her first night in the jungle and admit she'd 'had a little cry' after struggling to sleep and being scared of the creatures that could be in and around her sleeping bag. And, then after quitting the Watery Grave trial, Charlene then sobbed in co-star Sue Cleaver's arms as she cried over her disappointment at 'letting everyone down.'

Charlene, who ended up being the first star to be voted out of I'm A Celebrity last year, was at the head of the Loose Women panel on Thursday and kicked off the show with the discussion topic 'Do you know when to give up?'
And she was very forthcoming about her I'm A Celebrity struggle, revealing to her colleagues that she very nearly walked.
Panellist Nadia Sawalha told her: "I remember your first night in the jungle' I felt you were very low; lower maybe....was a right? If you could have gone would you have gone?"
Honest in her response, Charlene replied: "Yep, I'd say 80% because, I was really scared. It suddenly all went black, all you could hear were the sounds of animals and creatures in the bushes. I was scared of spiders crawling into the sleeping ag, scorpions crawling into the sleeping bag."
She added: "I couldn't see anything and I just remember lying there thinking 'I can't do this' and I was 80%, I think, in my head of just going, but I didn't want to feel like a failure. I didn't want to let my family down; I didn't want to rock ack up to the desk here and think I'd given up before I'd given it a real chance."
