Loose Women's Carol McGiffin slams Meghan and Harry's bombshell Netflix trailer

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle created a stir last week as the trailer for their Neflix docu-series was released. Tears, emotive black and white pictures, and an explosive voice-over combined to stir up a debate and Carol McGiffin took aim at the couple and the controversial snapshot of what was to come in the 'soon to be released' series. The 62-year-old broadcaster and Loose Women panellist declared that she has "run out of patience" for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

The timing of the hugely-anticipated Netflix documentary coincided with Prince William and Princess Kate's trip to the US for the Earthshot Prize. In the minute-long clip, Meghan is seen crying and Harry saying he had to "do everything he could to protect his family". Harry adds: "No-one sees what is happening behind closed doors."

Taking to Twitter to share her frustrations over the clip and its contents, Carol wrote: "I always gave Meg and H the benefit of the doubt but now I’ve run out of patience. They are not nice people."

Fans soon responded to Carol's Twitter post. Taking to the comments to have their say, some people agreed with the presenter. "This is spot on," one person said. Another added: "Agreed! By the way I’ve always admired you."

However, not everyone shared her view. Other people completely disagreed, with one of Carol's followers writing: "I think all this hating on H and M is judgemental. We don’t know them!" "If I was Meghan, I wouldn’t want to give up my US life to live here, as a royal- I couldn’t think of anything worse! I honestly don’t blame her- or him," penned another. Someone else added: "I love the fact everyone has an opinion but don’t actually know them personally. Mind your own business."

Carol's comments come after Piers Morgan branded Meghan and Harry "repulsive hypocrites" as he replied to a tweet from Netflix to share the trailer, according to the Mirror. Piers' scathing tweet read: "Imagine bleating about privacy then doing a kiss-and-tell reality series about your private lives? He continued: "Then imagine preaching compassion as you trash your family again? Then imagine releasing 1st trailer deliberately to ruin your brother’s big trip to America? Repulsive hypocrites."

Meghan previously revealed how the documentary series will delve into the couple's love story as she said how viewers can expect "the piece of my life I haven't been able to share, that people haven't been able to see – our love story".
