Loose Women fans were left a bit gutted after Jane Moore announced a change to the usual TV schedule live on air. Wrapping up Thursday’s show, Jane revealed that the much-loved ITV daytime chat would not be airing on Friday, April 24, because of coverage of horse racing events at Sandown and Perth.
Speaking to viewers and the studio audience, Jane said: “That’s it for today, and the rest of the week we will be off air because of the racing.” But she didn’t leave fans hanging for too long, teasing a star-studded line-up for when the show returns next week. “We are back next week with Vanessa Williams, Michael Brandon, and Victoria Derbyshire,” she added, giving everyone something to look forward to.
On Thursday’s episode, Jane was joined by Katie Piper, Coleen Nolan, and Tanni Grey-Thompson as they tackled the day’s hot topics and shared some powerful conversations. One particularly emotional moment came during an interview with Beyoncé’s mum, Tina Knowles.
Tina opened up to the panel about her new memoir, Matriarch, and shared the emotional story of her health battles, including her breast cancer diagnosis. She spoke movingly about the role her female friendships have played during the toughest times in her life.
“Friendship with women is of the utmost importance to me,” Tina said. “It’s one of my biggest priorities to stay connected because when I went through that, I depended on my daughters. I didn’t tell everybody in my friend group.”
She explained how, during her treatment, she didn’t feel the need to explain herself. “I just went to Houston and gathered my girlfriend,s and we went to church, we went to lunch, we went out partying at a club and dancing,” she said. “I just told them, ‘I don’t want to talk about what’s going on, but I just need you guys right now,’ and they were all right there with me.”
Tina’s heartfelt story touched viewers and the panel alike, as she spoke about how important her close friends and daughters were during difficult times, including her divorce. “They rallied around me, they always have at those very difficult times,” she added. “When I went through divorce, the first time I was devastated, and my girls were right there to lift me up and tell me that I can do things, and make me laugh because you know at those times, you need laughter too. They are my rock really.”
Although Loose Women won’t be on air on Friday, fans will no doubt be counting down the days until it returns, especially with the exciting guest appearances promised by Jane. And if Thursday’s show proved anything, it is that the show continues to strike the perfect balance between fun, honesty, and moments that truly resonate.
