The Loose Women panel were split on their thoughts towards the Met Office issuing serious temperature warnings.
The Met Office issued severe weather warnings as the UK is expected to reach 40C today and tomorrow - the hottest temperatures in British history. Whilst the Loose Women panel admitted they were safe and comfortable in a well-air-conditioned studio, the topic was still discussed at length, specifically the warning signals that have come with it.
"A threat to life" warning was issued given the extreme heat alongside warnings of dehydration and sunburn since the Met Office made the announcement last week. The Met Office said: "Exceptional, perhaps record-breaking, temperatures are likely on Monday, then again on Tuesday. Nights are also likely to be exceptionally warm for the UK, especially in urban areas. This is likely to lead to widespread impacts on people and infrastructure."

The extreme heat poses a significant health threat to fit and healthy people and not only those with high-risk conditions. Warnings were also issued to travellers as roads and rail structures are expected to melt alongside electrical gadgets not being able to cope with overheating. The Met Office advised people to do everything in their power to remain cool, including closing curtains to block light from entering, drinking plenty of fluids, and staying in the shade with plenty of sunscreen applied throughout the day.
Kaye Adams said, when she was younger, there were no such warning signs and people "got on with it." She said: "When I was a kid I used to have one water blister from one shoulder to the other every summer and we never thought anything about it. But do you feel in the way they talking about this heatwave they're getting it right? Does it feel like scaremongering?"
Jane Moore said there is "less need" for the warnings as people's common sense should kick in regarding sun safety in such extreme temperatures. Gloria Hunniford added, despite people understanding the problems they face, her husband previously dismissed the caution which resulted in melanoma, leading her to admit she thinks the warnings are necessary.
Judi Love felt the nation should "calm down" and "try to have a bit of fun" in the sun. She said: "When it comes to the UK and weather it's almost like we can't cope and we go into meltdown. Let's just have some fun with it.
"When you're seeing headlines like red emergency and fatalities it sucks all the joy out of an experience that could be beautiful. Yes, I'm aware it has caused some people to be immature and not put themselves in safe regards but we just need to calm down."
Kaye brought the conversation around to the issue of global warming which the panel unanimously agreed on. They said, despite the intimidating warnings from the media and the government, more needs to be done to tackle the earth heating up. The final comments revolved around concerns for young children and pets who are especially susceptible to damage in extreme weather.
