Loose Women Chaos as Ruth Langsford Warns Guest Over Unexpected 'Fruity Language' Live

In a lively episode of ITV’s Loose Women on Monday, presenter Ruth Langsford found herself having to issue a direct warning to guest Brian Cox, the acclaimed star of Succession. The incident unfolded live on-air during an interview with Cox and his wife Nicole Ansari-Cox, who were in town to promote their critically acclaimed play, The Score.

The production, directed by Trevor Nunn and scripted by Oliver Cotton, tells a stirring tale of one of Europe’s most tyrannical leaders and a legendary composer, initially staged at Theatre Royal Bath in 2023 and soon transferred to London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket later this month.

During the interview, the conversation took an unexpected turn when the topic of current global politics was raised, particularly concerning US President Donald Trump. Reflecting on the play’s relevance in today’s tumultuous world, Cox remarked on the parallels between events in Ukraine and the political climate in the United States. “It’s even more resonant now than when we did it over a year ago, because of what’s happening in Ukraine, what’s happening with that idiot in New York, in Washington,” he stated, before referring to Trump as a “dumbass”, reported Liverpool Echo.

Langsford, maintaining the decorum expected of a daytime show host, interjected with a measured reminder, saying, “Daytime show, just saying.” Cox, in response, quickly tempered his tone by noting, “I did The Last Leg and I can’t repeat what I said… I wouldn’t dream of it.” Sensing that the conversation might veer into uncomfortable territory, Langsford urged him further, “No, please don’t.”

The discussion then shifted to a more personal note as Cox expressed his growing anxiety regarding his sons, who reside in the US. “The difficulty is, we do worry about our sons in that situation, because it’s hell, it’s not good. It really isn’t good what’s been happening. The crap that that man comes out with is unbelievable,” he explained, emphasizing the strain of the current political environment on his family.

At one point, Cox nearly let slip a cheeky word but quickly corrected himself, stating, “It’s just that he is so,” and hastily adding that he “mustn’t say the word.” Despite the tension, Langsford handled the moment with professionalism. She wrapped up the segment by thanking the guests, “Thank you very much, Brian and Nicole,” and extended an apology to viewers, saying, “And yes, we apologize for any of the fruity languages, possibly, if anyone was offended.”

The interview’s awkward moments did not go unnoticed by viewers, who took to social media to comment on the palpable discomfort. One viewer tweeted, “Who is this awkward man,” while others noted the host’s efforts to keep the discussion on track. Despite the challenging exchange, Langsford’s poised handling of the situation ensured the conversation remained engaging and respectful throughout the broadcast.
