Carol McGiffin upset viewers by diminishing Boris Johnson's actions as Prime Minister.
The Loose Women panel discussed a controversial topic that recently came from the House of Commons. During his last Prime Minister's questions, Boris Johnson received a standing ovation from his peers.
Though the entirety of The Commons clapped for him, former Prime Minister Theresa May was seen standing still, refusing to join the applause. The move sparked a debate on the ITV chat show on whether or not her actions were disrespectful or whether she was fully within her rights to do so.

Panel regular Carol McGiffin said she thinks the Prime Minister has been dealt a terrible hand and people shouldn't be so hard on him. She continued by saying people have been unfair throughout his time at Downing Street and the level of backlash he received at times was unnecessary.
She said: "[The House of Commons] actually clapped Tony Blair, they've clapped people who have done much worse things than Boris and all he did was have a bit of cake and maybe a little party. He didn't start a war did he."
Viewers instantly slammed the comments by saying it was disrespectful to diminish his actions given so many lives were lost at the time.
One viewer said: "Biggest understatement of the year! "All Boris did was have a bit of cake" Jane, Linda and Carole shame on you."
A second comment added: "All he did was ‘ava bit of cake” - so that irresponsible supervision of a pandemic where lives were needlessly lost is nothing to you, Carole?"
A third viewer said: "‘All he did was have a bit of cake’, really? That’s what Carol thinks is the only issue with Boris? Jesus."
A final comment added: "All he done was eat a bit of cake? Yeah while people weren’t even allowed to say goodbye to their dying family. So insensitive carol."
Fellow panellist Linda Robson admitted she's always been a fan of the Prime Minister and "she'll miss him." She added despite the fact she wasn't a fan of Theresa May's actions, she would've never clapped former Labour leader Tony Blair.
