Looking more likely Bears LG Teven Jenkins will suit up vs. Commanders

The Chicago Bears will be without some key starters in the secondary for Thursday night’s game against the Washington Commanders. But they might be getting back a key member of the offensive line in left guard Teven Jenkins.

Jenkins was designated to return from injured reserve this week, giving him a 21-day window to return. He missed the first four games of the 2023 season.

Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters Wednesday that Jenkins healed “really well” and “fast” from his calf injury. And it’s sounding more and more likely that Jenkins will suit up against Washington.

“We’ll see where he is tomorrow,” Eberflus said. “Obviously, when he’s in that situation, you’re gonna work him out. We’ll see where he is and then we’ll go from there.”

The Bears have until 3 p.m. CT on Thursday to activate Jenkins from injured reserve if they want him to play against the Commanders.
