Stetson Bennett has been out of the spotlight since being placed on the non-football illness list in September, a move that still hasn’t been explained by the Los Angeles Rams. Sean McVay has provided small updates since then, but Bennett’s absence from the team remains a mystery for fans.
With the Rams on a bye, Bennett took the opportunity to head back to Athens and attend Georgia’s game against Ole Miss on Saturday night. It was the first public appearance for Bennett since going on the NFI list, so it was good to see him out and about amid the uncertainty surrounding his Rams tenure thus far.

In McVay’s last update on Bennett, he said it’s unlikely the rookie quarterback will return this season. With Bennett out, the Rams leaned on Brett Rypien as Matthew Stafford’s backup, but they’ve since cut Rypien and signed Carson Wentz to be the No. 2 quarterback.
The Rams selected Bennett in the fourth round of the draft, bringing in the two-time national champion on Day 3 of the draft.
