It’s been an up-and-down season for Michigan State basketball this year, but analytics suggests the Spartans shouldn’t lose a game in February.
According to KenPom, Michigan State is projected to win all seven of its games in the month of February. Andrew Cumbow pulled the schedule breakdown from KenPom — which shows the upcoming slate for the Spartans:
I’m not gonna expect it or predict it to happen with all the ups and downs but the schedule sets up really favorably in February. If MSU could somehow go undefeated or even 6-1 in this stretch, vibes would be high entering March. pic.twitter.com/tsn1f0r0iW

When looking at the schedule, it’s understandable how the Spartans could go a perfect 7-0 in February. But logic also would suggest Michigan State will drop at least one game along the way — especially with three road games on the schedule: Minnesota, Penn State and Michigan.
Michigan State will enter February with a 13-8 overall record and 5-5 mark in Big Ten play. Should the Spartans actually run the table in February, they’d enter March with a much more impressive mark of 20-8 overall and 12-5 in conference play.
First up for the Spartans is a home tilt against Maryland on Saturday. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on FOX.
