Earlier this week, we posted highlights of former Ohio State and current Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud lighting it up on the basketball court. If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth a watch and proof that Stroud is more than a single sport athlete.
Based on a video that appeared lately, it appears as though the court isn’t the only place the No. 2 pick in the NFL draft uses a basketball. In fact, it looks like tossing a basketball around is a great way for Stroud to get loose before he rips off throws in practice.
Watch below as Stroud takes a basketball and throws it to a member of the Texans coaching staff using both arms and multiple throwing slots to get warmed up.

I guess this is the same as using a medicine ball in practice or swinging a heavier bat to make the actual tool being used appear a little lighter. In any case, based on what we’ve heard coming out of camp, whatever Stroud is doing is working, so playing basketball on grass seems like it needs to continue.
