Manchester City fans have gone wild for Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez as they combined off the bench to give the Blues the lead against Chelsea.
Graham Potter's team had the better of the first half at Stamford Bridge and were unlucky not to be in front when Carney Chukwuemeka struck the post. In response, Pep Guardiola made a double substitution at half time with Rico Lewis and Manuel Akanji coming on for Kyle Walker and Joao Cancelo.
Immediately there was a greater urgency about City with Nathan Ake hitting the post with a header. However, it was not until Grealish and Mahrez came on for Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva that the visitors were able to find the breakthrough.

Three minutes after entering the field of play, a first-time cross from Grealish picked out Mahrez at the back post for an easy tap-in. City supporters had been calling for a start for Foden however they were more than willing to provide credit to their super subs after their immediate impact.

Both men have faced scrutiny from supporters during their time at the Etihad Stadium. Despite having his best goalscoring season ever in 2021/22, Mahrez has been criticised for his lack of consistency this campaign.
Meanwhile, Grealish has struggled to find his feet since £100m move from Aston Villa. However, in recent weeks they have started to show exactly what they can do and have stated their claim for regular football.
