Longtime Patriots director of skill development moving on in 2025

New England Patriots director of skill development Joe Kim is moving on from the team for the 2025 season. ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported the news on Friday.

Kim got his NFL start with the Cleveland Browns under Bill Belichick in 1992. He had a unique teaching tool with the utilization of martial arts techniques to help with player development.

The Patriots are currently overhauling their coaching staff with the arrival of head coach Mike Vrabel, who is currently handpicking his staff.

“I’ve had nothing but a positive experience with the Patriots,” said Kim, via ESPN’s Mike Reiss. “The time is right for a new challenge.”

It has already been reported that Mike Vrabel will be the one making the personnel decisions. Now, he is hard at work building his support staff, both on and off the field, to help him along the way.
