A veteran Manchester burger favourite has scooped the ‘Best Newcomer’ gong at the annual Just Eat Restaurant Awards. Archie’s, the Manc-born chain, grabbed the accolade, despite being founded over 13 years ago.
The judges for this year’s awards were fashion expert turned TV chef and DJ Gok Wan, chef and Great British Menu judge Andi Oliver and- the Michelin-trained, TikTok starPoppy O'Toole, with comedian Joel Dommett presenting to awards at the ceremony in London.
While established in Manchester, burger joint Archie's has been expanding, and now has locations in Birmingham, Liverpool and Leeds, as well as its five branches in the city, and another at Manchester Airport’s terminal 2.

Meanwhile, winner in the North West takeaway category was Chester’s Vegan House, which is based in the New Chester Market. Owners were over the moon at the result, posting the moment to Instagram.

First Dates star Fred Sirieux was among the celebrity attendees, along with Love Island stars Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page, and TV personalities and podcasters Oliver Proudlock and Emma Connolly.

Munchies, based in Halifax, took home the gong for Best Takeaway in the UK.
