Minnesota Vikings pick presenter Ed Marinaro was taking in the sights and sounds of the 2022 NFL draft the moment he stepped to the podium to announce the No. 42 pick.
He stood up there chatting it up with the audience, sharing a few laughs and memories with the card and pick in hand.
“I know what you’re thinking. I look pretty good for my age,” Marinaro said onstage. “[My draft] was nothing like this. I was in my little apartment in Ithaca, New York at Cornell University, and Jim Finks, the general manager, called and told me, ‘Congratulations, son. You’ve been drafted by the Minnesota Vikings.'”
Marinaro kept talking for nearly two minutes straight before a member of the draft event staff came onstage and tried to hurry him along.
Ed Marinaro went on for so long without naming the pick that producers had to walk on stage to stop him 😂 pic.twitter.com/hY9E73UHlV

You can’t hurry a legend, and that speech was obviously legendary. Bring Marinara back onstage.
We’ve got all night.
