Long queues for Victoria Centre car park as Nottingham Forest promotion event gets under way

Long queues have been reported at the Victoria Centre car park as thousands of people descend on the city for a special Nottingham Forest promotion event. The Reds secured their place in the Premier League with a 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town in a match that will now go down in history.

The club and players will be lifting the Championship play-off winners' trophy on the Council House balcony from 1pm on Monday, May 30, where a celebration event will be taking place throughout the afternoon. Comedian and Forest fan Matt Forde will also feature during the civic reception.

Queues of vehicles are building in Glasshouse Street and lining up for the entrance to the shopping centre as of 12noon as the city gets busier and busier, ready for the celebrations in Old Market Square. Motorists have also been advised of roadworks on the A52 as they head into the city.

Other car parks available include Trinity Square which has 440 spaces, the new Broad Marsh car park which has more than 1,000, the Lace Market and an NCP car park off Maid Marian Way and Greyfriar Gate. Be mindful of the Canal Street bus gate if travelling into the city today.
