Lone six-year-old child spotted wandering streets of town with teddy

Police have issues an appeal regarding the welfare of a young girl seen wandering Portishead alone. The girl, believed to be around six years old, was seen on Monday (December 19) walking around the town.

The girl was seen wearing red pyjamas, a purple dressing gown and slippers, and clutching a teddy bear. She was spotted on The Finches early on Monday morning.

Avon and Somerset Police are searching for the girl with the help of a drone unit. If spotted, the public are asked to call 999 immediately.

Detective Inspector Andrew Greaves said: “If you know who this young girl is, or see her, please call 999 immediately.

“While there may be an explanation as to why she is out alone in her pyjamas, we urgently need to make sure she is safe.”
