London travel news LIVE: Severe delays on the Piccadilly line due to signal failure

Severe delays have been reported on the Piccadilly line this afternoon due to a signal failure in the Hounslow West area.

Earlier disruption between London Paddington and Heathrow following an earlier signalling fault in the Twyford area, has now been cleared.

Severe delays on the Piccadilly line

Severe delays have been reported on the Piccadilly line due to a signal failure in the Hounslow West area.

Tickets are being accepted on London Buses, Elizabeth line, Great Northern and Weaver line.

Severe delays on the Northern line

Severe delays on the District line

Good service on the Metropolitan line

Tfl is now reporting good service on the Metropolitan line following earlier delays due to a track fault at Harrow-on-the-Hill.

Circle and Hammersmith & City lines part suspended

There is currently no service on the Circle or Hammersmith & City lines between Hammersmith and Edgware Road due to a fire alert at Westbourne Park.

Minor delays on the Jubilee line

Minor delays have been reported between Stanmore and Wembley Park southbound due to an earlier faulty train at Canary Wharf.

Good service on the rest of the line.

Minor delays on the Metropolitan line

Minor delays have been reported between Harrow on the Hill and Uxbridge due to an earlier faulty train at Kings Cross.

Good service on the rest of the line.

Weaver line is part suspended

The Weaver overground line has been part suspended between Edmonton Green and Enfield Town while Network Rail fix a signal failure at Enfield Town.

Minor delays on the Elizabeth line

The are now minor delays between Maidenhead and Reading due to an earlier Network Rail signal failure in the Twyford area.

Some lines reopen following signalling fault

Some lines have now reopened following a fault with the signalling system in the Twyford area, Tfl has said.

Trains running between London Paddington and Heathrow Terminals / Reading may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 11am.

Minor delays on the Jubilee line

Minor delays have been reported between Canary Wharf and Stanmore westbound while Tfl engineers work to fix a faulty train at Canary Wharf.

Disruption at Balham expected until 9.30am

An operational incident at Balham means that trains must run at reduced speed on some lines at this station for safety reasons.

As a result, trains may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised.

This incident is expected to continue to impact services until 09.30am

Services between West Ealing and Greenford are suspended

Great Western Railway services between West Ealing and Greenford, and also between Maidenhead and Marlow are suspended.

Rail replacement taxis are in operation between Maidenhead and Marlow via Bourne End.

These services are not running to the timetable of the train services.

Tickets can be used on the following services:

  • Avanti West Coast between London Euston and Birmingham New Street (in both directions)
  • Chiltern Railways between London Marylebone and Oxford (in both directions)
  • CrossCountry via any reasonable route
  • Elizabeth line via any reasonable route
  • First Berkshire & Thames Valley bus routes
  • London Buses via any reasonable route
  • South Western Railway via any reasonable route
  • Transport for Wales via any reasonable route

Disruption between London Paddington and Heathrow expected until 9am

Disruption to the Elizabeth line, affecting passengers travelling between Paddington and Heathrow, is expected to last until 9am today.

A fault with the signalling system in the Twyford area means that all lines running through this station are currently closed, Tfl has reported.

Trains running between these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Passengers have been urged to use their ticket on any of the following services:

  • Local buses via any reasonable route
  • London Underground via any reasonable route
  • Great Western Railway between London Paddington - Reading
  • South Western Railway between London Waterloo - Reading

Minor delays on the Circle line

Goodge Street is closed due to the unavailability of station staff.

Passengers have been urged to use London buses to make their journeys instead.

Reduced service on the Suffragette line

There will be a reduced service on the Suffragette overground line between Tuesday, March 4 and Friday, March 7.

The 0548 train from Barking Riverside to Gospel Oak and 06.24 train from Gospel Oak to Barking Riverside will not run.

Part suspension and severe delays on four Tube lines and Elizabeth line

Four Tube lines are suffering severe delays this morning ahead of rush hour, Tfl has reported.

The Circle, Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines are all facing severe delays due to train cancellations, an earlier fire alert and a late finishing of engineering works.

The Elizabeth line is part suspended between West Drayton and Reading while engineers work to fix a signal failure.
