
Trains have been hit by severe delays on the Elizabeth line between Paddington and Heathrow and the Victoria line this evening.
It comes after delays to rail services around Clapham Junction continued into the afternoon after emergency services rushed to the scene of a casualty on the tracks this morning.
British Transport Police confirmed that officers were called to Barnes railway station this morning, where a person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
The tragic incident triggered severe delays to rail services between Clapham Junction and Richmond, as well as routes travelling into London stations.
Services have now resumed following several hours of travel chaos, but service cancellations and delays of up to 30 minutes continued until 3pm.

Major disruption is expected to last until the end of the day.
National Rail has said the following alterations will apply:
- 2 trains an hour will run between Abbey Wood and Heathrow Terminals
- Services between Heathrow and Shenfield will start/terminate at London Paddington or London Liverpool Street
- Services between Abbey Wood and Maidenhead will be cancelled
All other services will run as booked.

Goldhawk Road station remains closed
17:00 , Megan HoweGoldhawk Road station remains closed this afternoon, as police continue to investigate an earlier incident.
Police were called at around 1pm on Wednesday to reports of a stabbing in Goldhawk Road.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man suffering stab injuries.
The Met Police said the victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

It came after emergency services rushed to the scene of a casualty on the tracks earlier today.
Officers have confirmed that a person sadly died at the scene.
Transport Police confirm one person died in earlier incident
15:19 , Tamara DavisonBritish Transport Police confirmed to The Standard a person was sadly pronounced dead near Barnes Station following an earlier incident.
“Officers were called to Barnes railway station at around 7am today (12 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks,” the statement read.
“Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
Train tickets still being accepted on alternative routes, says National Rail

National Rail confirms power turned off to rails during emergency

But in order to allow emergency services to attend the scene, power running through the rails in the surrounding area was turned off.

Slow moving traffic around Beckenham and Elmers End
08:00 , Tamara DavisonTraffic monitoring platform INRIX is reporting that there is slow-moving traffic and road blockages following a crash on Croydon Road Westbound near Beckenham.
Traffic was initially flowing but has been halted again, and a detour is in place.
This is impacting bus routes: 54, 194, 356, 358, 367.
Stansted Express passengers reminded of ongoing delays
07:45 , Tamara DavisonDelays to the Stansted Express and other Greater Anglia trains are expected until at least 9am this morning.
This is due to overhead wire problems between Cheshunt and Harlow Town.
Passengers are reminded that tickets for Greater Anglia trains can be used on London Underground services, as well as Great Northern and Thameslink trains.
If you purchased an advanced ticket, you will be allowed to use it on earlier and later routes if needed.
“Greater Anglia and Network Rail are sorry if your journey has been affected by this disruption,” the rail network said.
