Motorists on the M25 are still facing delays of up to 90 minutes heading into this evening after a multi-car collision led to the closure of several lanes.
Traffic is currently queuing for at least seven miles on the M25 clockwise in Essex between J26 and J27.
Emergency services are on the scene, but no casualties have been reported at this time.
According to the fire department: "Two lorries and a car were involved but no-one was trapped. Crews left the scene in the hands of highways officials at 1.16pm."
All lanes are now open again but “severe delays” remain in place, according to Inrix.
Efforts are underway to attempt to clean up the incident, but delays may continue for some time.
A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Emergency services are working at the scene with Traffic Officers and contractors assisting with recovery and clean-up work. Road users are advised to plan their journey in advance, allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if possible.”

This follows after an attempted theft of signalling cables between Deptford and Dartford, which led to travel chaos on Thameslink services.
Although lines have reopened, “trains running between these stations may still be cancelled, revised or diverted whilst service recovers.”
Passengers may face an additional 25 minutes on top of their journeys.
M25 multi vehicle pile up leads to major delays

Two lanes are currently closed and drivers are facing delays of up to 90 minutes at the moment.
National Highways is urging motorists to seek alternative routes at this time.
A spokesperson said: “There are severe delays of up to 90 minutes on the M25 clockwise in Essex between J26 (Waltham Abbey) and J27 (M11) following a multiple vehicle collision. Traffic is queuing for approximately 7 miles back to J25 for Waltham Cross.
"Emergency services are working at the scene with Traffic Officers and contractors assisting with recovery and clean-up work. Road users are advised to plan their journey in advance, allow extra travel time and consider alternative routes if possible.

An electricity fault is impacting Great Western, Heathrow Express and Elizabeth Line services.
