Traffic chaos has hit three motorways following a three-vehicle crash on Tuesday morning - which shut the M25 and M26 in Kent and Surrey, and left traffic tailing back for miles on the M20.
A 20-mile section of the M25 and M26 were shut following the crash, which involved a lorry and two cars and happened around 3am.
The M25 was shut between junctions 5 at the M26/Sevenoaks and 6 at Godstone, and the M26 between junction 2 at Wrotham, to where it meets the orbital.
The roads have now reopened and traffic has largely eased, but remains heavy on the M20, A20 and A2 leading into London.
Traffic monitoring system Inrix warns there are “long delays” in the area.
The crash is reported to have involved two cars and a lorry.
Meanwhile trains between London Liverpool Street and Chingford are cancelled after an object became caught on overhead wires between Walthamstow Central and Wood Street, blocking the line.
As a result, trains are currently unable to run between Liverpool Street and Chingford.
The Overground is partially suspended as a result, with National Rail reporting that disruption is expected until at least 11am.
