A person has died after being hit by a train, causing major disruption to services in and out of London King’s Cross.
Dozens of trains on lines to and from the north are either delayed or cancelled, with the affected operators including Lumo, LNER, Thameslink, Great Northern and Grand Central.
Lines have reopened but National Rail says the disruption is expected to last until the end of the day. Trains may still be cancelled or severely delayed by up to 60 minutes.
Meanwhile, a fault with the signalling system at London Blackfriars means that fewer Thameslink services are able to run across the network.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 8.50am today (14 February) at Stevenage Railway Station. Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased.
"The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
