Commuters in south-east London faced long delays on Thursday morning after a crash near the Blackwall Tunnel caused roughly five miles of tailbacks.
Traffic was queuing after the collision on the A102 Blackwall Tunnel approach northbound at the A2203 Blackwall Lane, closing one lane.
The congestion began at the Sun in the Sands Roundabout and stretched back to Eltham Park South. The lane had reopened by 9am.
Meanwhile there were no trains on the London Overground between South Acton and Richmond due to a points failure at Gunnersbury.
Damage to overhead electric wires between St Albans Abbey and Watford Junction also shut all lines between the stations.
The disruption comes ahead of a predicted “Carmageddon” - with motorists warned journeys could take twice as long as 14 million Easter getaways are planned.
