A south London shopping centre will ban unaccompanied children from next week after police were injured in a brawl with youths earlier this year.
Children will not be able to enter The Glades in Bromley from next Friday unless they are accompanied by an adult, the Met Police said in a letter to local schools on Thursday.
Face coverings, such as balaclavas, will also be banned and anyone wearing them will be asked to leave the site.
Security guards will be stationed at entrances to the shopping centre from 11am to enforce the rules, the Met said.
Police broke up the group as they “anticipated that incidents involving violence may take place”.
Four police officers sustained injuries breaking up the group, but the injuries were not life-threatening.
Following the incident, the centre placed a ban on children aged under 16 entering without an adult during the May half-term.
