A funeral which was at the centre of a shooting was for a mother and daughter who tragically died within a month of each other.
Mourners had gathered to celebrate the lives of Fresia Calderon, 50, and her 20-year-old daughter Sara Sanchez when a gunman opened fire.
The congregation was standing outside St Aloysius Church on Phoenix Road near to Euston Station, London, when the shooting happened on Saturday afternoon.
Witnesses said they were all waiting to watch a dove release when it happened, with a seven-year-old girl currently in a life threatening condition in hospital.
The mother of Sara's boyfriend who was there at the time said the occasion "was supposed to be the funeral of two beautiful women".
Jo Ifghallal said: "She died of leukaemia and a broken heart after her mum died just a few weeks before.
"Today was a celebration for them. Just to remember how beautiful and lovely these women were."
Fresia was on a plane back from Colombia when she collapsed before being pronounced dead at Heathrow Airport on November 5.
During the flight, the mum had begun to feel dizzy and collapsed, with doctors on the plane attempting to give her CPR while Sara and her other child, Chris, 11, stayed at her side.
Doctors later blamed a pulmonary embolism, a rare blood clot that usually starts in the legs then gets stuck in an artery in the lungs.
Sara died 25 days later, after first having been diagnosed with leukaemia aged 17.
She had been travelling with her mum to Colombia for treatment, which had proved unsuccessful.
A family member said she 'gave up all hope' after her mum passed away, and refused chemotherapy after the treatment in South America didn't work.
"She just wanted to be with with her mum," Sara's cousin Darcy Diaz told MyLondon.
"We just had to accept Sara had done all this treatment to make her mum happy and be with her. The moment she passed away I knew Sara was going to go soon after."
"Each day you could see her getting weaker but she had so much life in her. Even when my aunty passed away she never lost her strong faith. She was very popular so every day there were big groups of people seeing her."
Officers remained at the scene of Fresia and Sara's funeral on Saturday evening, as it was confirmed a second girl aged 12 was also hurt in the shooting.
A Met Police spokesperson said a seven-year-old girl remained in a "life threatening condition" on Saturday evening, with four other women hurt.
Three women aged 21, 41 and 54 were taken to hospital while a fourth, aged 48, was treated for potentially life-changing injuries.
The 12-year-old was treated for a leg injury and subsequently discharged.
Superintendent Ed Wells, of the Met, said: “Any shooting incident is unacceptable, but for multiple people, including two children, to be injured in a shooting in the middle of a Saturday afternoon is shocking.
“Our thoughts are with all the victims, but in particular with the seven-year-old girl who is in a life threatening condition and with her family.
“An investigation into this dreadful attack is already well under way involving local officers and specialist detectives. I can assure the communities of Camden and beyond that we will do everything we possibly can to identify and bring to justice those who were responsible.
“Local residents can expect to see an increased visible police presence in the area through the weekend and into the days ahead as we progress this investigation.
“I would urge anyone with information to come forward, either to the police or anonymously, to Crimestoppers.”
