London gigs this March: The best concerts to book now, from Stormzy to Griff

Stormzy will finally bring his world tour to London this month

From intimate gigs to arena spectaculars, London’s live music scene has it all this month.

Here, we’ve picked out 10 must-see shows over the course of the next few weeks, all of which have tickets remaining.

March 8 - Yves Tumor and Its Band - Troxy

Yves Tumor is a musical shapeshifter, an artist whose sound wraps itself around everything from glossy glam rock to glitchy electronics. It makes the live shows an unpredictable affair — don’t be surprised if you hear something entirely new at this gig.

March 15 - Gang of Youths - O2 Academy Brixton

Aussie band Gang of Youths have always had a sound that seemed to have at least half an eye on stadiums, with huge choruses and heart-on-sleeve rushes of emotion. They’re getting close, with a show at Brixton Academy often a precursor to bigger things.

March 16 - Alfie Templeman - O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire

He may only be 19, but Alfie Templeman has already proved he can switch up his sound, whether that’s the hazy indie pop he emerged with or the disco-infused tracks he’s been coming out with recently. Whatever he decides to play here, it’ll be a fun one.

March 17 - Dora Jar - Lafayette

Bedroom popper Dora Jar has been opening gigs for Billie Eilish recently, which has only added to the buzz being generated by this California artist. Her sound — which ranges from Noughties-ish pop to fuzzy indie rock — seems destined for bigger venues than this one, so get in to see her up close while you can.

March 22 - M Huncho - O2 Academy Brixton

The mask-wearing M Huncho kicked off 2022 with a killer new track, Warzone, featuring Headie One, and he’ll keep the momentum going with this headline gig down in Brixton. The show was first scheduled for all the way back in 2020 — it should be worth the wait.

£34.89, SW9, academymusicgroup.com

March 23 - SIPHO. - Moth Club

Signed to Dirty Hit — which puts him in esteemed company, with labelmates including The 1975, Wolf Alice and Beabadoobee — this Birmingham-based artist is firmly on the up. With a modern blend of R&B, gospel, pop, jazz and more, all of which is elevated by some powerful vocals, it’s bound to be quite the gig.

March 24 - Griff - O2 Academy Brixton

Named by the BRIT Awards back in 2021 as a Rising Star, Griff is proving to be exactly that. In less than six months, she’s graduated from playing the 600-capacity Lafayette to the 5,000-capacity Brixton Academy — proof that 21-year-old is winning over the masses.

March 27-28 - Stormzy - The O2

After Dave had his stint headlining London’s biggest arena earlier in the month, Stormzy returns to repeat the trick. It’s been a long time coming — these are the rescheduled dates from his 2021 world tour — but you can expect something special when the London icon finally arrives for his homecoming.

March 28-29 - Park Jiha - Cafe OTO

Multi-instrumentalist Park Jiha comes to Dalston for this two-day residency, playing solo on the first night before teaming up with performance artist Roy Claire Potter on the second. Park’s own sound blends traditional Korean instruments with contemporary styles — check out her celebrated 2016 album Communion for an introduction.

March 30-31 - Aldous Harding - Barbican

Promising both fan favourites (including Old Peel, the crowd-pleasing set closer that finally got a studio release during the pandemic) and a selection of previously unheard material, Aldous Harding comes to the Barbican for a two-night stint.
