London’s Gatwick Airport is among several locations that continue to grapple with travel delays following the recent global IT outage.
While tech systems have since been restored, disruption continues in many airports around the world as staff work hard to resume normal operations among hundreds of delayed flights.
It comes as the airport gears up for its busiest summer in several years amid an influx of travellers looking to jet set worldwide.
"This summer, passengers can choose from 56 airlines flying to 223 destinations, with 169 short-haul destinations across a large European network and 51 long-haul routes,” said a spokesperson for the airport.
"New routes recently underway include short-haul flights to Gothenburg (Sweden), Vagar (Faroe Islands), Ponta Delgada (Azores, Portugal), and Salerno (Italy) that began on 13 July. "
Although planned strikes for July have since been suspended, it appears that Gatwick staff are now working around the clock to restore operations after a busy few days.
