The countdown is on for London Fashion Week’s spring/summer 2023 collections. And, the British Fashion Council has announced a schedule packed with the biggest names seen since it was shaken by the pandemic.

On 16 - 20 September, there will be hot new additions to the line-up in an attempt to attract an A-list international crowd.

Burberry showed off schedule for AW22 (Burberry AW22)

Designer Raf Simons, who is the co-creative director for Prada, and has previously held sought-after tenures as creative director at Christian Dior and chief creative officer of Calvin Klein, will show his eponymous label’s new season on the Friday night schedule. It will mark the brand’s debut in London — it normally shows in Paris — and has been the cause of great excitement amongst the fashion set where he has a stronghold of devoted followers.

Saturday will end with two blockbuster shows. Burberry, which has historically been a LFW highlight thanks to big budget collections which pull in top editors and a host of front row stars, returns to the in-person schedule having shown digitally in the pandemic.

JW Anderson showed sponge-like dresses for SS23 (JW Anderson)

Burberry will be followed by JW Anderson, Northern Irish designer Johnathan Anderson’s namesake label. The majority of his recent collections have been shown as lookbooks, while his most recent catwalk for Resort 2023 was held in Milan. The latter saw BMX bike handles sewn onto sweaters and a dress made to look like a sponge, so look forward to something head-turning come September.

The five-day affair wll also see a stronghold of familiar London faces showing their SS23 collections, including Richard Quinn, Molly Goddard, Erdem and Simone Rocha.

Cult labels are getting involved too. Chopova Lowena, the design duo known for their upcycled kilts, and Di Petsa, who makes wet-look frocks which are the It-dresses for celebrity pregnancy reveal pictures (including Nicki Minaj and Gigi Hadid’s), will both be holding events on the Saturday.

As ever, there will be big bashes to look forward to as well. On the schedule, one Diet Coke by Kate Moss: 40th Birthday Party stands out on Friday night. Supermodels, unite.
