London Fashion Week February 2022 is back, and the British Fashion Council has released the provisional schedule.
Running from Friday 18 to Tuesday 22, February, the event will be a physical-digital hybrid, with catwalk shows, presentations, appointments and events from over 131 designers.
A first look at the schedule (see it here) would suggest that several designers have chosen a return to the runway, but many big names remain missing.
London Fashion Week stalwarts Erdem, Rejina Pyo, Molly Goddard, Richard Quinn and Roksanda will once again host runway shows alongside burgeoning cool girl labels Ahluwahlia, Nensi Dojaka and Supriya Lele. Red carpet man of the moment David Koma is set to return with another mega spectacle, while hot new Gen Z label Poster Girl is set to make its LFW debut.
Sequin maestros Halpern and 16 Arlington will once again host catwalk events, having skipped the runway in favour of editor appointments and digital activations last season.
A large number of London’s biggest names are however notably absent from the line-up, among them Burberry, Victoria Beckham, JW Anderson, Emilia Wickstead and Christopher Kane. With any luck these absences are temporary, as without these power players London Fashion Week’s position as a leading fashion event stands at risk.
