Following the end of Ramadan this weekend, ending on Sunday, Europe’s largest Eid festival will open in London’s Westfield centres.
The sixth iteration of the London Eid Festival will take place over two weekends — firstly on April 4-6, at Westfield London in White City and secondly on April 11-13, at Westfield Stratford City.
Both events are free to attend and unticketed, and promise a shopping bazaar, an entertainment stage and activities, alongside an array of food stalls, both in and outside. It’s thought that more than 300,000 people are likely to attend, with the shopping centres keeping to their usual opening times for the events.
In total there will be more than 80 international stalls — with business from Turkey, Malaysia, Dubai and more — selling everything from boutique gifts to fashion to homeware and children’s books.
Details of the entertainment stage remain scant, though “community celebrities and VIPs” are promised. Local performers are also slated to perform.
Said Waleed Jahangir, the managing director of Algebra Consulting, who are behind the events, said: “The London Eid Festival at Westfield London and Westfield Stratford City has grown year after year.
“Beyond its expanding scale, it’s the community spirit and Westfield’s support that truly driven its success. As organizers, we’re not just hosting a festival; we’re shaping and celebrating the evolving Muslim community consumer landscape, and we can’t wait to bring an even bigger, more vibrant Eid celebration to life for everyone to enjoy.”
