Storm Pia has brought gale-force winds to the UK, causing significant travel disruption in many parts of the country.
British Airways was among the airlines that grounded some flights. This has caused chaos for weary travellers flying before the festive break from UK airports.
Two dozen domestic and European flights to and from Heathrow, as well as from other airports, have been affected.
“Due to the high winds forecast as part of Storm Pia, we have made some adjustments to our schedule with as much notice as possible for our customers," a representative for BA confirmed.
“We have apologised for the disruption to their travel plans and our teams are working hard to get their journeys back on track as quickly as possible.”
Although some weather experts claim the worst of the wind is over, those flying home for Christmas in the coming days will be eagerly checking for any further flight cancellations.
