Lola Cars and Yamaha Motor Co. collaborate for Formula E Season 11 in 2025.

Lola Cars, a renowned racing brand with a rich history, has announced its partnership with Yamaha Motor Co. to compete in the Formula E series starting from Season 11 in 2025. This collaboration will see Yamaha developing and supplying the powertrain for Lola's entry into the all-electric global racing series.

Established in 1958, Lola has an impressive track record with over 500 championship wins across various racing disciplines, including F1, LeMans, and IndyCar. The team boasts a roster of legendary drivers such as Graham Hill, Mario Andretti, and Nigel Mansell.

Mark Preston, Motorsport Director at Lola Cars, expressed excitement about the opportunity to reestablish Lola as a leading motorsport design and engineering group through their participation in Formula E. He highlighted the project as a platform for technological development, with a focus on creating an electrified platform with a software-centric approach.

Lola's entry into Formula E aligns with their commitment to sustainable motorsport, with a focus on electrification, hydrogen, and sustainable fuels and materials. Yamaha Motor Co. also emphasized their dedication to sustainability, stating that the partnership with Lola will accelerate the research and development of technologies contributing to sustainability.

Details regarding the team's drivers and principal are expected to be announced later this year. Lola Cars, under the leadership of Chairman Till Bechtolsheimer, has established its global headquarters in Silverstone, UK. Bechtolsheimer emphasized the company's focus on technological development and the potential applications of the 350 kW electric powertrain in various forms of international motorsport.

The collaboration between Lola Cars and Yamaha Motor Co. marks an exciting new chapter in the world of motorsport, as two industry leaders come together to drive innovation and sustainability in Formula E.
