Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and former deputy prime minister Lal Krishna Advani, BJP leaders Jagmohan have been members of Parliament from the New Delhi Lok Sabha seat.
Bollywood star Rajesh Khanna has also represented the prestigious New Delhi constituency as a Congress leader after he won the by-election in 1992 against his colleague Shatrughan Sinha, who contested for the BJP. Rajesh Khanna retained his seat until 1996.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Meenakshi Lekhi is the current MP from the New Delhi constituency. She had defeated Ashish Khetan of the Aam Aadmi Party. Congress’ Ajay Maken also represented the constituency for two consecutive terms from 2009 to 2014.
People in the New Delhi constituency will vote on May 12 and results will be declared on May 23.
