Loic Damour Hearts transfer exit confirmed as Jambos wish him and family well with next chapter

Hearts have confirmed Loic Damour has officially left the club.

Robbie Neilson has been hard at work in the transfer market as he bids for another successful season at Tynecastle while getting ready for a crack at European group stage football. Alan Forrest, Kye Rowles, Lewis Neilson, Alex Cochrane and Jorge Grant have all arrived this summer and now Damour is heading the other way.

He joined the capital club from Cardiff City back in August 2019 but the move never worked out with the midfielder making just 21 appearances. His exit will free up wages as Hearts continue to bring in fresh faces with the hard-work ahead of the new season well underway at their warm-weather training camp in Spain.

Neilson has made it known he would like to beef up his squad numbers and in particular his attacking ranks with Lawrence Shankland - who he worked with during his time as Dundee United boss - one of those linked while a return for Ellis Simms from Everton is another the Jambos would love to happen. He quickly established himself as a fans' favourite during his loan stint in Gorgie while Ben Woodburn also left after the expiry of his loan.

A club statement on Damour's exit read: "Heart of Midlothian can confirm that Loic Damour has left the club by mutual agreement.

"The 31-year-old joined the Jambos from Cardiff City in August 2019 and went on to make 21 appearances in maroon.

"The club wishes Loic and his family well as he enters the next chapter of his career."
