Logan Paul withdraws offer to fight Andrew Tate following social media ban

Logan Paul has ruled out a fight with Andrew Tate after the controversial star was banned from social media.

Paul is planning a return to the boxing ring after going the distance with Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition last year. Lacing up his gloves again did look in doubt after he signed a contract with wrestling promotion WWE, but Paul has since revealed his plans to continue training for a squared circle appearance.

The YouTube star had called out Tate alongside his brother Jake, with the controversial former kickboxer responding by offering to the buy Paul a Bugatti supercar worth $5 million. However he has urged other content creators to not give a platform to Tate by accepting a future boxing showdown including friend KSI.

“I don’t feel like platforming this guy,” the Maverick explained when addressing a potential fight with Tate on his Impaulsive podcast. “I don’t feel like giving him the blessing of being my dance partner in the ring. Especially after the social media platforms have made it very clear how they feel about this guy.

“You wanna re-platform this guy? Anyone. You wanna have him on your shows, do you wanna give him another opportunity to speak and spread his agenda? Because whether you believe it or not, the s**t that Andrew Tate is saying will have a ripple effect much more dangerous than you can imagine.”

Tate was banned from several platforms of social media including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube for his contentious views on mental health and views on women. He had gained notoriety for his comments but had faced huge campaign to prevent him from having a platform after suggesting that they “bear some responsibility” for being assaulted.

The 35-year-old rose to fame for his appearance on Big Brother in 2016, where a video surfaced of him hitting a women with a belt which saw him taken out of the show. He also has an extensive kickboxing career where he claims to have fought over 80 times, but has yet to take on anyone of a profile as big as YouTube star Paul.

Tate attempted to defend his own actions after releasing a "final message" on social media via Paul's brother Jake, and claimed the media was spinning a false image of him. "The media is spinning a false image of me, on repeat, and Instagram bowing to pressure is a massive shame," he said. "I will always have millions of fans around the world and my platform would be a beacon of light, teaching people of all genders and races how to respect one another for years to come.

"In time, the world will learn the true nature of my heart. I am a strictly religious man who believes god wants the truth to prevail. I have nothing but positivity to spread regarding all PEOPLE, wether male OR female, and this has been reflected in all of my recent messaging and posts."
