Logan Paul wants to fight in UFC - but was once KO'd by title challenger

Footage of Logan Paul being knocked out by UFC middleweight Paulo Costa has re-emerged after the YouTube star recently called for a fight in the cage.

Paul travelled to Las Vegas in 2020 and had dinner with Costa, who at the time was undefeated in his professional career. The next day they trained with each other at the UFC's Performance Institute and it didn't end well for Paul.

The 27-year-old wore headgear whilst sparring with Costa and held his own for the most part, until was knocked out by a big overhand right from the Brazilian, Paul was then helped up to his feet by Costa's manager Walid Ismail and MMA coach 'Captain' Eric Albacarrain whilst hilariously asking, "How did I do, did I do good?".

Paul showed off his wrestling credentials after sparring with Costa as the UFC middleweight tried his hardest to take him down, but the former Division I college wrestler was able to avoid being pinned to the mat.

Ismail then tells Paul he could "definitely" do MMA because of his determination and wrestling skills. Costa also praised the YouTube star for being able to hang with a fighter of his calibre.

"90 per cent of guys who go to train MMA have good technique, but not hard spirit, not a big heart. You have both, thank you," he told Paul.

Paul reflected on the experience by detailing the tense atmosphere he encountered when first arriving at the UFC's training centre. He said that Costa was cordial with him during their dinner and sparring session and the pair got along well.

"You walk in and there are fighters everywhere, this is not like a gym. These are all very lethal human beings who are ready to kick everybody's a** at a moment's notice. Everyone's got a little dark, red energy around them. I'm a little on edge," Paul said on his Impaulsive podcast.

"I've never met a human being who is more of an actual animal than Paulo Costa, this dude sleeps around 10 to 13 hours a day and just beats people's a**. He's cool as f***, when I sparred with him he was trying to kill me, then I saw him at the UFC fight and it's like a switch, killer instinct."

Paul has recently called for a fight with UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett despite outweighing the Liverpudlian by almost 40 pounds. Pimblett sounded open to the clash and dismissed the size difference between the pair, predicting he would still be able to submit the YouTube star.
