Shocking weapons have been taken off Knowsley streets as police continue to crack down on criminal behaviour.
Merseyside Police confirmed that officers had been patrolling the Page Moss and Huyton areas on Thursday engaging with the community. They visited businesses to discuss crime prevention strategies and offer support and a number of open land searches were conducted in key hot spot locations.
Officers visited locations based on public information about where anti-social behaviour and violence is 'prevalent'. Merseyside Police confirmed to the ECHO that these searches were carried out in the Knowsley Heights area.

Taking to social media, Knowsley policing team confirmed shocking weapons were discovered and seized during this activity. Officers were praised for their work in taking dangerous weapons off the streets.
Weapons included a lock knife, four kitchen knives, a meat cleaver, a dotty hammer and a pair of scissors, all of which have the ability to cause great harm. The policing team said: "Removing these items from our streets makes our communities safer for everyone.
"Thank you to the local community for your continued support and engagement. If you know something that will help us help the community, please tell us. We are committed to taking action."
A dispersal zone has also been put in place for the Huyton area from Friday at 4pm and will last for 48-hours following further reports of anti-social behaviour. Under the legislation, officers have the power to direct members of the public to leave the designated area and not return for up to 48 hours.
