"So sad for Drop Dead Twice. Such a sound bunch and a great pub. Sounds and looks like the fire will have badly damaged the place but hopefully they can get back on their feet relatively soon," one user wrote.
Drop Dead Twice owners told their followers on Instagram they would take “the next few days to regroup and start planning” as a result of the damage caused to the venue.
They thanked Dublin Fire Brigade as well as the general public for messages of support they had received in the past few days. They said that they had no further details to share about the incident besides knowledge that no one was injured as a result of the blaze.
Two residents who lived next door to Drop Dead Twice were treated for smoke inhalation as a result of the blaze. Fire crew wore breathing equipment upon entering the building and fans were used to ventilate the area. The incident ended at around 8.30 am.
The cocktail bar first opened its doors in 2016 and offers a variety of drinks, including 26 craft beer choices in its downstairs area known as The Taproom. The venue is known for performances from the Dublin music scene and routinely hosts comedy and drag nights for customers.
