A Cambuslang church hosted a spring gala last weekend.
Nurture, a non-profit educational institution, hosted the event last Saturday and it was a huge success.
The Nowruz Spring Gala was free to all and took place between 2pm and 5.30pm.
A variety of activities took place including arts and crafts and traditional food, as well as music and dance.
Yunus Akyuz, of Nurture Educational Multicultural Society, told Lanarkshire Live : “It was quite a success.
"What we wanted was to bring diverse communities together, spend a nice time together without the barrier of language or race.
"Various communities got to see and experience each other’s cultures, eating their cultural food and dancing to the cultural dances of different countries.
“Understanding each other, communicating, and celebrating each other’s cultures is really what brings love and compassion to a community.
"There is a horrific current war going on, and we think bringing diverse communities together with love and peace is really what the world needs right now.
“We definitely plan to do it next year, hoping to have more people over and share more beautiful moments.
“We did enjoy the day. The food and the dances were quite a joy. The kids got their faces painted and played together. People of all ages danced to songs they’ve never heard before together. It was an amazing experience.
"We’re very happy to have hosted this event.”
