CEO of BCfm Radio, Patrick Hart said: “At a time of great uncertainty for so many, BCfm is stepping up to help people survive and thrive this winter during the cost of living crisis. We are determined to be there for our listeners when they need us the most, and to make sure BCfm is delivering for all to navigate these difficult times.”

The cost of living in the UK has been rising for the last two years with inflation reaching a 40-year-high in October 2022. Higher rates of inflation have pushed up prices of all goods and services while gas and electricity prices continue to rise.

While prices have been rising, wages and benefits have not kept up which has pushed more households into poverty. In one recent survey , 92 per cent of UK households said their cost of living had increased since January 2022.

The campaign is funded by the Social Action Small Grants Programme from Bristol City Council, in partnership with the Quartet Community Foundation.
