Local pub staff left in 'shock' after major Hollywood actor dropped in for a meal

Staff and guests of a traditional pub in the UK were left star-struck after a major Hollywood actor walked through the doors to grab a bit lunch.

The Matrix actor, Keanu Reeves, had a meal at The Robin Hood in Tring before kindly posing with staff for pictures.

The pub took to social media to share the special moment and wrote: "So today we had a surprise visitor for lunch… What a lovely man he was too.

"Laura asked if he would be ok with taking photos with the kitchen lads.

“He marched into the kitchen shook their hands and praised them for the food they had prepared. Suffice to say he made their days!!!"

Speaking to Metro, a member of the bar staff, Laura Rolfe said: "One of our cooks was so excited he looked as though he was going to pass out.

"When I took the cutlery down, I asked, 'Oh, is someone else joining you?' but he said, 'No, we want to try both.'

"He was with someone else. Presumably a driver or a friend, maybe?"

Last August Reeves delighted locals at a Northamptonshire pub, with one resident saying the actor had “made our year”.

The John Wick star was spotted by surprised pub-goers at The Fox and Hounds, Charwelton.

Dianne King, 46, had been at the pub with her husband, Jason, and said she did not believe it was the actor at first.

“We really didn’t think it was him at first,” Mrs King told the PA news agency.

“Why would Keanu Reeves be in our local pub? But when I realised (it was him) I went over just to make sure.

“He was really nice and asked if I wanted a photo, and funnily enough I did. Who wouldn’t?”

The couple described the film star as a “lovely person” and said the experience of meeting him had been an “honour”.

“He is a legend and I think myself and my husband are still on a high from it,” Mrs King said.

“He has made our year. What a honour.”
