Merseyside goes to the polls today for a crucial round of local elections that will decide who holds power across our region.
Voters across Liverpool, Sefton, Knowsley and Wirral will today choose who they want to represent them at a local level and make decisions about the local issues that matter most to them.
Voting will take place throughout today (Thursday) for local elections in our region, but different councils will be counting votes and declaring results at different points throughout Thursday night and Friday.
Here we take a look at when we can expect results to come in across Merseyside over the next couple of days.
Sefton
Sefton Council is made up of 66 councillors, with three councillors representing each of the borough's 22 wards. In this election a third of those seats will be up for grabs.

The Southport wards will be counted and declared at Dunes Leisure Centre, while the Sefton Central and South wards will be counted and declared at the Golden Miller Suite at Aintree Racecourse.
Results will be announced in the early hours - expected to be before 2.30am.
Liverpool
Like everywhere else, people in Liverpool will be casting their votes today (Thursday), but the results won't be declared until tomorrow. One reason for this is because there are a heck of a lot to get through, with the city being divided up to 64 new wards represented by 85 seats.
This year every single one of those seats is up for grabs, which is a departure from the previous system where the council was elected in thirds.
Counting of votes will take place at the Liverpool Tennis Centre in Wavertree on Friday with results announced throughout the day.
Wirral
Wirral Council is another in our region where all out votes are taking place. This means that every single one of the 66 council seats will be up for grabs in this election.
Three councillors will be elected in each of Wirral's 22 wards.
Voting will take place today (Thursday) and counting will take place at the Bidston Tennis Centre on Friday. Results are expected between 2pm and 5pm.
Knowsley
In Knowsley, there will be 16 council seats up for grabs in this election out of a total of 45. These seats will be spread across the borough's 15 wards.
While voting will take place in Knowsley today (Thursday), the results will also be counted on Friday at the Knowsley Leisure and Culture Centre. Results will be declared throughout the day.
