Wallasey stretched their lead at the top of the Love Lane Liverpool Competition with an eventful 14-run win at New Brighton.
The Wirral derby - switched to a bank holiday as usual - was the sides' seventh league game of the season. And for the seventh time, Wallasey's Indian left-arm spinner Sumit Ruikar took a five-wicket haul, taking his tally to 41 already.
Ruikar's 6/75, in an unbroken spell of 25.1 overs, included the winning scalp of Scott Sherratt as the last hour drew to a close, after David While's rearguard 51 had ended just too soon for the hosts.
At 116/3 chasing 191, the Rakers would have fancied their chances. But visiting skipper Greg Beaver, who had earlier top scored with 51, brought himself on and struck with his first two balls.
After Beaver was forced out of the attack by injury, While and Oliver Griffiths advanced the score to 148/5. But Ruikar was hitting his stride - just in time, it turned out.
Earlier, Danny Beaver and Josh Rylance got Wallasey off to a strong start before both fell in their 40s, and regular wickets limited Wallasey to four batting points before rain forced an early declaration.
