Queensland's shadow cabinet has been given a shake-up as LNP leader David Crisafulli prepares for the 2024 state election.

Mr Crisafulli has flagged youth crime, housing, health and cost of living issues in the Sunshine State as key points for his new-look team.

It comes following the resignation of former premier Annastacia Palaszczuk and new leader Steven Miles unveiling his 19-person cabinet last week.

Currumbin MP Laura Gerber has been promoted to the shadow ministry in the youth justice and victim support portfolio while Ninderry MP Dan Purdie will assume the police and community safety role.

That move shifts the member for Burdekin Dale Last to opposition spokesperson for natural resources and mines.

Mr Last and nearby Townsville-based Scott Stewart hold the opposition and government portfolios for resources respectively.

Former opposition leader Deb Frecklington has added energy and cost of living to her portfolio and Jim McDonald has been named shadow spokesperson for community safety.

Bryson Head will become shadow spokesperson for agricultural industry development and shadow minister for resources and critical minerals after being elected to parliament in a Callide by-election in June 2022.

Mr Crisafulli flagged the changes as a commitment to issues affecting Queenslanders.

"Our team has the right priorities for Queensland's future, including making our community safer, delivering easier access to health services, saving you paying for Labor's failures, securing our housing foundations and working harder for Queenslanders," he said.

"The LNP is a strong, united and disciplined team with the right priorities."
