LNP leads Labor by 10 points before Qld election: poll

A survey suggests the Liberal National Party is on track to return to government in Queensland at next month's election.

A Newspoll published in The Weekend Australian has the LNP leading Labor by 55 per cent to 45 per cent on a two-party-preferred basis.

Queensland opposition leader David Crisafulli, who is seeking to end Labor's nine year reign at the October 26 state election, also leads Premier Steven Miles in the poll's popularity stakes.

Mr Crisafulli is the preferred premier of 46 per cent of respondents while Mr Miles has the support of 39 per cent and another 15 per cent are uncommitted.

The Newspoll's primary vote tally puts the LNP on 42 per cent, Labor on 30 per cent, the Greens on 12 per cent, One Nation on eight per cent and the others category also on eight per cent.

The survey of 1047 voters was ­conducted between September 12 and 18.
