Lloris storms off
Hugo Lloris was fuming with the officials after Newcastle's opener, claiming Wilson had fouled him in the build up. Referee Jarred Gillett and VAR didn't see it that way, leaving the Frenchman incensed shortly before half-time.
However, Lloris clearly hadn't calmed down when the full-time whistle went as he stormed straight down the tunnel at the end of the game. As Harry Kane and Spurs stars clapped the home fans who stayed in their seats until the end, the goalkeeper made no attempt to join in and marched straight to the dressing room without shaking the hands of Newcastle players.
Tottenham fans suffer
A storm was brewing in north London during the first-half on Sunday and by the time half-time had rolled around, the heavens had opened and the torrential rain was pouring at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Spurs may have a state of the art stadium but whoever designed the lavish venue clearly didn't think of supporters sitting near the pitch. As the second-half started, fans sat near the pitch had vacated their seats due to the fact they were getting drenched in the weather.
Some fans did stick around and accept the weather but a whole host of them also left the ground before the final whistle, even as their side pushed for an equaliser. A swathe of Tottenham supporters decided they'd seen enough and snuck out moments before full-time...
Wilson joins in
Newcastle supporters certainly weren't leaving early as they watched their side record a huge victory on the road. As the players and staff went over to the away section at full-time, the travelling support was in fine voice as per.
A host of all-time classic chants were being wheeled out in the aftermath, including the infamous 'Up the Premier League we go' number. Callum Wilson couldn't resist getting involved, pogoing in front of the away fans as he and his team-mates celebrated the 2-1 victory.
Tindall's pre-match work
Much has been made of Newcastle's improved defence, with Howe's men boasting the best record at the back so far this season.
Moments before the game, assistant Jason Tindall took the four starting defenders to one side and did some work solely with them. Dan Burn, Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar and Sven Botman lined up in their usual order to work on headers before pairing up and working on pressing drills.
Tindall's pre-match work clearly did the trick as the defence put in yet another huge performance at the back despite severe Tottenham pressure in the second-half.
