Lizzo sparks concern as she cancels show over mystery illness which is 'getting worse'

Lizzo has been left devastated as she was forced to cancel one of her shows due to a mystery illness.

The 35-year-old singer is currently in the middle of her Special Tour, but has been left feeling "weak" after being hit with a sore throat and a headache.

She apologised to fans as she announced her upcoming show would not be going ahead after her illness seemed to be "getting worse".

Taking to Instagram on Friday, Lizzo shared a video of herself wrapped under blankets as she wore a blue face mask.

"Hey Montreal, I had a sore throat last night and a headache and I went to bed and I woke up this morning and it was worse and my body's weak and I got chills and my head hurts.

"Normally, if it's just a cold, I'll shower, I'll eat, take some medicine and it gets better. But this is getting worse," she explained.

She seemed close to tears as she speculated about what the illness could be: "I think it's the flu and I have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel today.

"I want to find a date to reschedule, but I just can't perform tonight.

"This is the second time I've ever had to cancel due to health in my entire career and I will make it up to you Montreal. I'm so sorry."

Captioning the post, she added: "Montreal I'm so sorry but I physically cannot do the show. I promise we will honor your tickets."

Fans rushed to offer their support to the star, with one person commenting: "We love you! Get better beautiful."

Another said: "Take care of yourself first. Take care of us later," while a third fan urged: "Take care of your health first and always!"

"There is so much pressure on performers, but you are human and have to heal! I hope you feel better soon!" someone else added.
