Lizard in midday meal: 14 students taken ill, 8 teachers removed in Rajasthan

AJMER: The education department of Bhilwara removed eight teachers, including the headmaster of the Government Middle School in Banasara village after a dead lizard was found in midday meal served to students on Tuesday.

In this incident 14 students got ill and were sent back to their homes after the treatment. The education department also removed the cook and helper from the job. Meanwhile, on Wednesday, a team of district administration inspected the midday meal of the school where they found inaccurate records and irregularities in distribution of midday meal in school.

An investigation against the teachers has also been initiated by the department and the matter has been reported to the director of education of Rajasthan.
